Aunt Gloria's funeral was on Thursday, October 14, 1993. Services were conducted by Rev. Margee Adams Iddings, at the Forestville Chapel of Alexander S. Pope Funeral Home in Forestville, MD.
GLORIA W. HARROD was born on July 1st in Trenton, Missouri to Lloyd M. and Octavia R. Williams. She later moved to Kansas City, where she was raised until her graduation from Lincoln High School.

In 1944, Gloria, along with her mother, relocated to Washington, DC, where she graduated from Howard University majoring in Sociology. Upon completion of her degree, she entered federal government service. She worked for a brief period at the former Freedmen's Hospital, during which time she met and married her beloved husband, LeRoy. Gloria eventually began a career in Personnel Management at the former HEW, where she proudly continued to serve a total of 35 years until her retirement.

Gloria was known to all as an ever-loving and generous soul, eager to lend a helpful hand wherever needed.

In addition to her devoted husband LeRoy, she leaves to mourn: two loving daughters, Lynda and Lisa; five grandchildren, Prentice, Aaron, Lauren, Ahmik and Alexander; her beloved mother, Octavia; one brother, Lloyd; and many, many other loving relatives and friends.
