At the reception for Patrick Stewart ... Took some pictures of him on the stage, and waiting patiently while he makes the rounds of tables... I am the designated host for our table. Good lines from the speech:
"The bells at St. Malachy's play THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOW BUSINESS every evening." This is the Catholic church across from the theater, a homeless shelter and actor's church which will be the recipient of all the charitable contributions.
"We haven't really had any fun doing an episode since the 'Robin Hood' episode ('Qpid'), and I can't even remember the last time I was on the holodeck." Some kid in the back of the room calls out, "The last episode on the holodeck was 'Pen Pals'." P.S. looks confused... "Oh, it was? Which season was that?"
He sez that the last episode which he directed, 'Hero Worship', will air the second week in January.

PM - Got my picture taken with him! [Gave my Polaroid to someone, knelt beside
him, and asked, "May I be your evil twin?"]
We're into the charity auction now, and a shirt that he wore for a dress rehearsal has gone for $1,000... These women are really obsessing on stuff that's been touched by him!!
No, this was not a Star Trek convention ... the man had a career with the Royal Shakespeare Company before he became an American popular icon as Jean-Luc Picard.
He was in New York City to perform his one-man show, a dramatic reading of Charles Dicken's A Christmas Carol (5 performances in 3 days). His international fan club arranged a private reception (Invitation Only) and charity auction before his Sunday matinee performance.
I went down with Brian & Jan (who got the invitations), and we stayed with Brian's cousin and her husband on Long Island. The five of us took a train into the city, and saw the performance after the reception.
