Every once in a while, I'd get paid twice … this couple was part
of a rock group, and wanted a portrait as well. One of the nice things
about making my own rules was that I was able to present this to them,
and they liked it. This was my competitive edge, that I could break the
barriers of "conventional" portraiture, and give them something that
looked more like it belonged in a magazine like People.
