I looked up [my first wife] Beth last week - she's cut and dyed her hair - never got around to asking how she was doing, too busy letting her know that I've finally got my shit together - Carolyn B called one night - Chic answered the phone - she wanted me to come see her, but I never got around to visiting her.
I called Linda one night - she's gotten over her "summer depression" and we may be able to get together one day this fall - I also called Carol Knox in L.A. - she laid more Scientology on me - she's going to make a career in it - well, at least she's happy in it and it seems to meet all of her needs.
Chic is out of town this weekend, the first weekend I've had free in a month - Xerox is taking more of my time than I thought it would, but Sat. and Sun. pay $125 which I can sure use - we talked about getting a place together, but I'm still not ready to live with somebody - I still need too much time to myself, and although she's not possessive, I wouldn't feel comfortable with her around all the time.
I want to find a place that I can use as a studio and live in as well - I told Chris that I'd be pulling out of THE ARCHIVE at the end of Sept. - Gene, Rich, and Beth already pulled out - I'm leaving primarily because of Sue, but she and Chris have really turned the place into a full blown business, and I didn't get involved with a "gallery" business in mind.
I'm not sure how long it will take before I have enough business that I won't have to worry about the bills, but Xerox has reinforced my decision not to work for somebody else - I'm going to apply for a CAPS fellowship again, and also see if I can get a grant from Xerox.
Mike Harris and Rebecca Fogg will model for my erotic posterizations in return for the work I'm doing to get their brochure printed - maybe baby oil and a blue filter will do the trick.
