Dennette's WW-II Aircraft:
1:48 P-80C Shooting Star

swotl/p-80

This Linberg kit (No. 70552) is the only P-80 I could find when I was trying to start my SWOTL collection.

P-80 box art I got it home and was test-fitting the fusalage halves when I realized that it was a 1:48 kit, not 1:72 as I had thought. Well, since it was at the "No Refund!" stage, I just tucked the box in a corner of the To Be Built box and ignored it for the last four years. This is the box art for the kit.

I don't have much of anything on the performance of this aircraft ... it was put into service in 1946, too late to be use in WW-II, but by 1950 and the Korean War, it was already obsolete and used mostly as a trainer.

Well, I have so many 1:48 kits sitting on top of the television, I figured there was room for one more, so I'm working on it Even As We Speak. :-)
