Roy Greenfield's Obituary Roy Greenfield was my mother's first cousin. My sister sent me a copy of his obituary.
Roy A. Greenfield, 83, a former professor at Delaware State Teachers College in Dover who retired as director of consumer education at the New York office of the Federal Trade Corn-mission, died of kidney failure May 15 at his home in Silver Spring.
Dr. Greenfield was born in Washington. He graduated from Dunbar High School and Howard University. He received a doctorate in higher education from New York University.
During World War II, he was an Army intelligence officer. After the war, he did investigations for the Veterans Administration, now the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Later, he was a professor in Delaware. In the 1960s through his retirement in the rnid-1970s, Dr. Greenfield was director of consumer education for the New York office of the Federal Trade Commission.
On retirement, he returned to the Washington area.
Survivors include a sister, Juanita C. Mathis of Washington.
