Vincent Hugh Greenfield's HomePage

This is Vincent Hugh Greenfield, son of Thelma Armstong Jones and Dr. Vincent Marshall Greenfield, and brother of my mother, Phyllis Greenfield Harrod. This is my Uncle Huey.

This is very hard for me to tell, because it is a very painful story. Uncle Huey and my mother were the children of a Doctor of Phramacology, a dispensing chemist who ran his own drug store in Washington, DC between World Wars One and Two. He was a Success, and nothing less was expected of his children.

Well, mom got her Master's degree and held national offices in several professional organizations, but Uncle Huey … well, his wife left him and took the kids, and even tried to get him to support one she conceived after she had been gone for sveral months. And even though he was the Head Janitor in the school where my mother was the Guidance Counselor, she kept it a secret from her co-workers that they were related.

I'm saddened that he never got the respect he deserved from the women that mattered to him the most.

Uncle Huey would have been a great-grandfather were he alive today. This tell is for all of them, the children and grandchildren of cousins that I have not seen or heard from in over twenty years. One of them will have to collect their stories … this is their anchor.
