This is three generations of Greenfield women. In the front is Thelma Armstrong (Jones) Greenfield, my maternal grandmother. Wearing glasses and a red shirt is Phyllis Thelma (Greenfield) Harrod, my mother. The woman in the stripes is Phyllisolive Harrod, my sister.

It was taken in Vienna, Virginia at one of the 4th of July family gatherings at the Carter family estate. I believe that it was the summer of 1970, just after I got my A.A.S. in Professional Photography. I seem to remember that this was the family gathering where everyone got to meet my first wife, Beth, because that would have been the summer before we got married, and we were cohabitating at the time.

I think that my mother handed me her camera to take this one, because I did not carry cameras to family gatherings in those days, even though I was making my living through photography at the time.
