What is a FAQ? A TLA that means "Frequently Asked Questions". Software packages usually contain a "HELP" file named README.1ST (pronounced "read me dot first"). This has now become known as a "FAQ file". It's pronounced "fack" like "fact". Not to be confused with FAX ("facks"), which stands for "facsimile", a printed document that you send over the telephone using FAX machines.

WTF is a TLA? A three letter acronym that stands for "Three Letter Acronym."

WTF does WTF mean? A TLA that stands for "What The <Four-letter-explitive>".

What is an acronym? "A Contrived Rendition Of Nomenclature Yielding Mnemonics." (Visit the The WorldWideWeb Acronym and Abbreviation Server, the best one out there IMHO :-)

What does ":-)" mean? It's called an "emoticon" (emotion + icon). This particular one is a smiling face - look at it sideways. (Change the colon to a semicolon and one eye is winking. ;-) Use the other parenthesis and you make a frown, indicating sadness. :-(

What does BTW mean? A TLA that stands for "By The Way".

What does FYI mean? A TLA that stands for "For Your Information". (Geez, don't any of you people watch Murphy Brown on TV?)

What does RTFM mean? A FLA that stands for "Read The F-ing Manual".

WTF is a FLA? A "Four Letter Acronym." (D'oh!) Not to be confused with an ETLA.

WTF is an ETLA? An "Extended Three Letter Acronym." Not to be confused with a FLA. :-)

Why are you doing this? Because I got tired of answering the same questions over and over. OTOH, I don't have much of a life right now.

No, I mean why are you living your life so publicly on the infobahn? Because it's the only life I've got.

What kind of a life is that? The life of an infomerchant in the dawn of 21st Century.

What is an "infomerchant"? An infomerchant is a dealer in information. If I can't find the answer to your question, then it isn't worth knowing.

What is an "infonaut"? An infonaut is a voyager on the infobahn.

WTF does OTOH mean? It's a FLA for "On The Other Hand"

WTF does IMHO mean? It's a FLA for "In My Humble Opinion"

WTF does RTFL mean? It's a FLA for "Rolling on The Floor Laughing" - Quite common on Compu$erve and chat newsgroups.

Why am I reading this? Uhh … Is this a trick question? I'm sorry, but I never claimed to have the answers to all of the questions; I just know how to find the answers. OTOH, some answers will just have to wait until Judgement Day. :-(

What is "Judgement Day"?

1. The day when The Universe As We Know It comes to an end, and we stand before Almighty God, the Creator of the Universe, to be judged for the last time, and
2. The day when all of our questions will be answered, but only if we are Truly Worthy. (Everything has its price.)

Where is this all leading? Well, I don't know anout you, but I'm just following the straight path on my Dream Walk, and trusting that He won't lead me to a Bad Place.
