This Web page is the "root" for The Carter Family Pages. My father's mother (Donna) was a Carter, and her brother (William McKinley Carter) had six children.

Their mother and Matriarch of the Carter Family, Florence Ella Carter Thompson, had three husbands, about whom I know bupkiss. OTOH, she had two sisters (Annie and Birdie) and a brother (Benjamin). Florence serves as the "anchor" for not only her own descendants, but those of her sisters and brother as well.
