Just turned in the job application I picked up when I was here the other day (didn't get out yesterday) ... Howard called last night to tell me that Mac's funeral will be next Friday ... I have purchased a one-way Amtrak ticket on-line for a Tuesday departure, arriving in New Mexico on Thursday ... I'll pick up the tickets from one of the ATMs in Union Station when Wil Grandy and I go down to crawl the mall for photo cps ... I've reserved two nights at a local motel, and can extend as necessary.
I plan to drive back with Howard in a rental truck ... four days and three nights ... 1,850 miles from Santa Fe to DC ... I figger 10 miles per gallon at $2.50 a gallon makes $462.00 just for the gas, plus another $131.00 to get from DC to Boston.
I finally have a name for My Project ... "Special Order" ... it's about eating halal at McDonalds for the money obtained by panhandling with a wooden beggar's bowl ... I'm "walking the earth," like Cain in 'Kung Fu' ... I need to find a nutritionist to help create the healthiest diet for the lowest price, and to monitor my progress ... and a visual communications major to do the filming. :-)
9:27 AM - Came outside for a cigarette break ... after i finished my Egg McMuffin, I rolled a cigarette, then folded the sandwich wrapper into an Origami bird with flappable wings ... I gave it to the manager, and told the children in the booth next to mine that if the behaved, I might make one for them ... glad this Sharp pocket PC still works, although I still haven't figured out how to get the entries from the memory card to Zathras by way of Orion ... maybe I can get them to talk while I'm on the trip ... maybe I'll also look at a compact monochrome printer!
9:43 AM - I forgot to fold a bird for the
family before they cleaned up their trash, but the little girl
offered me one of the stickers from her Kids Meal, so I put it
on the palmtop, and then took her picture. :-)
10:37 AM - Silver Spring - Chevy Chase Bank
Stopped at Radio Shack to get the cable and
software to use Orion with my cell phone for 'Net access
during my trip ... I want to get a haircut, but there are 4
people ahead of me, so I walked up to the bank to get $500 in
$50 bills, and as many $2 bills and Sakajawea dollars as they
had, to use as tips on then trip.
Waiting my turn again, this time for the
manicure ... the haircut went well (took his picture), and while
waiting, I used up my outstanding store credit (15 bucks &
change) on glossy ink-jet paper and magnetic holders for 4x6
images (took a picture)

After the cut, I stopped by the comix shop
for a pouch, and ended up getting some dice and a key chain with
Stewie from "The Family Guy" (took another picture ..,
her name is Sam) ... they want $40 the DVD set of "Batman:
The Animated Series (Volume 2), which turns out to contain the
"Harley & Ivy" episode ... Volume 3 came out on
Tuesday, so I checked the 'Net for a Harley Quinn episode
guide, and used prices on Amazon.com, and that's when I
learned the Awful Truth; that I could have been watching Harley
on DVD for the last six months!!
9:13 PM - CVS
