If you choose, you can make printing information from the site more economical by cutting and pasting information to your word processor (it was never my intention for people to print the site, but you are welcome to do so). Please do post this reply in the guestbook...thanks. Just to touch your points of concern (please do not get frustrated): No matter what the word "Allah" means, you can not deny that Allah was the name of the Moon god idol found in the Kaaba in Mecca.
Nor can you deny that "Allah" is the name that Muslims use to refer to the same "biblical God of the Patriarchs, prophets, and apostles" (to quote the URL you supplied below) that you call "Yaweh" or "Jehovah"The real problem is your refusal to accept the fact that the over one billion people in the world who call themselves Muslims venerate the One True God who created Adam & Eve and sent Abraham, Moses, and the other prophets of the Christian Bible as Messengers of His Word ... you're too hung up on the fact that we don't call Him by the same name as you do.
Sorry, but truth is truth. Even you wrote: "Lah" is Arabic for "a thing worthy of worship", or "a god" with a small "G". If "al" is translated to "the", then allah translates: The thing worthy of worship (an idol), or the god worthy of worship (a thing). According to you, the translation of allah does not require capitalization. So why pervert the "allah" translation by adding capitalization? The demon behind the allah idol may be named "Allah"; this is when capitalization is required. Based on your information, allah worship (idol worship) has transformed to Allah worship (demon worship). The God I serve is not a "thing" with a small "g", but He is a Being which when written requires capitalization. See the link below for more information. http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/moongod.htm
Talk about bogus ... this page is reproduced on several sites, but the alleged original source, http://www.yeshua.co.uk/, appears to have evaporated, so I'll simply refer you to http://www.mostmerciful.com/moongod.htm for a rebuttal.
Concerning the following verse: "He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the Sun and the Moon; and the Stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise." Sura 16 (The Bee), Ayat 12. I am not surprised to see that Islam is tied to astrology.
"Among His Signs are the Night and the Day and the Sun and Moon. Prostrate (adore) not to the Sun and the Moon but prostrate to Allah, Who created them, if it is Him ye wish to serve." Holy Qur'an 41:37
Concerning:
I was raised Roman Catholic, and even received the Boy Scout Religious
Medal ("Ad Altare Dei") from the hand of the Archbishop of Washington,
DC at the age of 12.
Again, I am not surprised. Because the Roman Catholic Church is a
religion, many Catholics go searching for something else to fill the
emptiness in their life.
Concerning your statements about the credibility of the the Bible
because of English language charateristics. There is much more to the
Word of God than a particular arrangement of words and
sentences...probably no argument there, right? God promised that His
Word would always be with us; therefore, no matter how languages evolve,
the meaning of God's Word will always be present, and the Holy Spirit
will be there to guide people who are truly seeking. It does not matter
if Cinderella's slipper was made of glass or fur, just as it does not
matter if the star which the Three Wise Men of the Bible followed was
actually a star or a comet. In American culture, slang words are
sometimes used in casual conversation, but in formal conversation, words
are used with their original meaning. The English Bible does not use
slang, because obviously, the Word of God is a serious matter.
Concerning:
"Yeah, well, I ask Him to forgive your ignorance and open your heart to
knowledge and tolerance".
My sins are forgiven...Praise God! Only true Christianity has a Saviour
(Jesus) who cleanses away sin. Thank God for grace! What is grace?
(G)od's (R)iches (A)t (C)hrist's (E)xpense. All religions on Earth
lack a Saviour. In Islam, who died for your sins? In Roman
Catholicism, who died for their sins? In Judaism, who died for their
sins? In any religion, who died to do away with sin? The answer to all
the above is Jesus Christ, because He died to save everyone. Either you
accept God's way through His son, or you accept man's way through
religion (good works), and if you choose man's way, how much good work
do you have to do? ...and that is the problem, good works will not be
enough.
Everybody is ignorant compared to God...only He knows everything. My
ignorance is continuously being filled with knowledge through God's
Word and through the Holy Spirit. As a child of God, I am not called to
be tolerant of sinful cultures, sinful lifestyles, and religions, but at
the same time, God does not command me to go out and harm unbelievers.
Instead, God commands that I go and preach the truth to all nations.
In closing, talking with you has not been a waste of my time, because
Jesus loves you; therefore, you are important to me. If you need
encouragement, prayer, or help coming to know the Lord, feel free to
call on me again. I encourage you to look at the following address
again: http://www.thestormshelter.net/religiousorsaved.html
I offer http://www.mostmerciful.com/ikhlas.htm as a rebuttal, and http://www.mostmerciful.com/jschinqr.htm for insight about what the Qur'an says about Christ, Mary, and Christians.BTW, http://www.mostmerciful.com/ is an example of a site where the use of colored text does not get in the way (like it does with your site), and it has copious references to sites with opposing views, such as http://www.answering-islam.org/.
Praying for you... Brian
