today is mother's day i woke up coughing and sweating got the nurse to get my proventil & intal from my bag, then another nurse saw them and said i couldn't use them ... "no selfmedication" ... the day nurse sez i sound congested, and i'm probably coming down with a cold. guess i'll call mom now.
10:32 AM just talked to linda in baltimore ... tried to call her yesterday because it was the day for the kentucky derby, which made me think of her. talked to darla in rochester yesterday ... she had the expected r.n. questions and advice.
still waiting for a doctor so that maybe i can get off of the intravenous blood thinner.
12:19 PM just finished lunch ... dr.bosquet has seen me, and i'm off the i.v. and monitor ... they are moving me from i.m.c. to another unit in an hour, which means a new phone number as well (they have a dumb pbx).
mousie & warren, jr. have both called today ... mousie said i could move into kenyon street & she'd take care of me ... she means well, but i think i'd rather run naked through a turkish prison!
my finger nails are wicked long ... i couldn't cut them last week because i couldn't see them, and now i can't cut them at all. they just called to say i'm scheduled for an m.r.i. tomorrow ... i guess that was an echogram on my neck the other day.
1:25 PM ed clapp just called bill turcotte put my phone number on the igesproj exploder ... i'll call him when i've moved so he can correct it. here comes jeanie with the wheelchair to move me.
8:10 PM Nadeem and Rasheed just left Rashid and two other brothers (whose names i can't remember) stopped by earlier, just as I was transferring from the wheelchair to the bed in the new room ... they had trouble finding me because there is no one named "Abu Hurairah" listed as a patient here! Nadeem brought flowers, but I have no vase.
Mac called from New Mexico after he had called Mom (it's Mother's Day ... have to keep telling myself that today is Sunday) and then Stu called from L.A. less than an hour later mistook his voice for Bill Turcotte told him I got the letter and had been meaning to send him some .BMP images for his Windows system ... didn't tell him that they would be 20 year old snapshots!!
