I was *really* sick on the flight home ... had the driver stop at a convenience store at the Drum Hill Rotary (around midnight, due to delays) where I bought two gallons of orange juice, then we dropped my bags and he took me to the emergency room at Lowell General.

Thank the Lord it was not bronchitis I'd spent the entire flight in fear that this was just the first day of ten weeks of barking like a seal! It was just a "post nasal drip" that clogged the top of the lungs ... some antibiotics and STRONG cough suppressant was what I needed and days of sleep.

I went out on Friday to get my prescriptions filled, and did not g out again until Monday, when I got my mail in Concord. For the first few days, I would awaken with bloody clots in my nose, but that finally stopped. I would sleep for only an hour or so, then wake up, toilet, drink, and collapse for another hour. It was several days before I slept at least 3 hours uninterrupted. (That little Face of Fur was no help she'd pounce on me at first light to come play!)

Today is the first time I've been out since Monday ... I had Chinese food delivered on Tuesday night. The brothers have leased (!) a building for prayers for the next 3 months ... Ramadan starts next week.

I'm still pretty woozy ... better get the shopping done and get back to bed. Started laundry before I left ... sheets were pretty rancid!

Ramadan started on Saturday, and even though the days are still shorter than the nights, it as been harder this year...

Last Thursday, I took FurFace to the vet because she wasn't eating, and she immediately vomited when she tried to eat. They gave her an xray and kept her over night. She had an intestinal blockage, so they gave her an enema. She passed a very hard stool, and they sent her home on Saturday ... the bill was $230.

She didn't eat over the weekend, so I took her back this morning for a barium series. Dr. Kilgore says that the barium slowed down when it hit the colon. They will xray her again in the morning, and if she doesn't pass the barium and the blockage, they may have to operate. If they do, I will go and look at the xrays and visit with her before the surgery.

I'm very worried about her, and have not been able to concentrate on my work ... my review of the JAMAIS document from Phoenix is way past due.
