DayBooks: 14 Feb 74 - Thursday - 11:03 p.m. [Rochester, NY]

Two nights ago I went to one of the "shoot your own nudes" studios looking for a model (I'm going to apply for another Fellowship) to use for a new posterization portfolio - I shot one of their girls in a "no naughty bits" nude pose, which will make a great image for the business cards I'm trying to sell them.

The next day, I met Chic, a psychology major who had just moved to Rochester, and just found an apartment after living in the YWCA. We seem to have hit it off very well - the "big spark" like with Moon Child (haven't seen her in over a week) but I'm not as lonely as I was then - or am I?

We slept together last night - heavy body trips, but saving the best for later - she turns me on physically like no woman except Carolyn, only better - she's even more responsive than Beth - she seems familiar from somewhere - deja vu - her voice is beautiful - her eyes sparkle.

I'm in lust, very deeply infatuated, but it's too strong, too soon - a sure sign that it won't last very long - I'm going to shoot her on Saturday, then we're going out to supper and a play.

If I "use" her, it would be to make up for my guilt about the way I've treated women in the past year (Martha, Nola, Carolyn especially) and maybe to learn how to relate to people in non-destructive ways.

Now, if only I can keep from putting her on a pedestal.

2005-05-05: The "shoot your own nudes" place was named Art Photo Studios, and here's the promotion that I did for them ... it was a 4x5 inch card printed on both sides. The idea was to hand them out and leave them at local bars to attract customers. (Click them to enlarge for easier reading.)

Part of my Luminscript, Ltd. business involved creating logos for promotional advertising, so the whole card was my design, from the photograph to the text on the back. I got about a hundred bucks for it, and they had a few hundred printed. I designed the Art Photo Studios logo with Letraset® ... notice my DAHarrod logo in the lower right-hand corner. :-)

Interesting sidebar to this entry from over 30 years ago ... at the time, I did not know that Chic had met Carolyn at the YWCA! It wasn't until about six months into our relationship that she saw a picture of her, recognized her, and finally associated the "Carolyn Jean" I had been kvetching about with the "Jean Carolyn" who had been moved 400 miles by this guy, who kicked her out after one week ... which I had indeed done, but only because I came home from work one day and found her having coffee in my kitchen with some strange man that she had just met that day. <Riiight!>
